The Royal is run almost entirely by volunteers. We rely on the help and dedication of volunteers like YOU to keep local theatre opportunities alive and thriving for everyone in Benton and the surrounding communities. Volunteering is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the community, create connections, and help us celebrate the arts.
All training is provided. You do not need any experience to volunteer, only a love of theatre, community, and a smile!

FAQs
- How old do I have to be to volunteer? Every volunteer must be at least 13 years of age. For children ages 13-15, we require a parent to volunteer as well.
- Can I get community service hours that count toward high school graduation or other high school groups that I am in by volunteering at the Royal? Yes, absolutely!
- How do I get started on becoming a volunteer? It’s simple! Join the ROYAL PLAYERS VOLUNTEERS Facebook group (see link above). All volunteer opportunities are posted within the group.
- How do I volunteer to help with front of house for a show? Some positions, such as House Manager or Box Office, require training. We will contact you as soon as possible to conduct training if you are interested in those positions. Other positions, such as Concessions or Check In (scanning tickets), do not require training. Concessions volunteers arrive about an hour before curtain to set up, help until the show begins and then again during intermission. Check In volunteers arrive about an hour before curtain to scan tickets and help until the show begins. All volunteer positions allow you to watch the show for free on the day or night that you volunteer and come with free popcorn and a drink!
- What other ways can I get involved to support the Royal?
- We have Theatre and Costume House cleanup days throughout the year. These days are posted ahead of time on social media.
- We have a limited number of production volunteer positions for people who are able to commit to a regular weekly schedule for the length of a shows run, including tech and dress rehearsal weeks. Positions include set building and painting, sewing costumes, and sound, light and backstage crew for a production. Please send an email to [email protected] if you are interested in one of these positions.
- Become a member! Membership is open to all interested individuals throughout the year. Each single membership is only $20 and includes a free ticket to any performance. A family membership ($40) provides two tickets to any performance throughout the year.
